We follow the AQA full-course GCSE in French and German. This is under review for September 2016 when the New GCSE specifications will be ready for first teaching. Pupils study the four main topic areas of Leisure, Work and Education, Lifestyle and Home and Environment.

In French, students get to correspond with a French student in our partner school, Coll├Ęge Paul Langevin, in Boulougne-sur-Mer.

In German, students get the chance to participate in an exchange with our German partner school, Eckenberg-Gymnasium in Adelsheim.

Throughout Years 10 and 11 students prepare two speaking and two writing controlled assessments. Each of these is worth 15%, therefore 60% of the final GCSE grade.
At the end of Year 11, students sit formal examinations in listening and reading at either foundation or higher level. These exams are each worth 20%, therefore 40% of the final GCSE grade.
