On Saturday the U16 boys handball team travelled to Dagenham for the third round of matches in their handball league.  The standard of the competition was very high and all of the games were close.  Despite a slow start in their first game the team beat Cambridge 16-12, Ethan Mayhew top scored with 5 but all players apart from our goalkeeper got on the score sheet.  We then had a tight match against Ealing next where the boys showed great character to win 7-5, this time Ben Mills top scored with 3.  Their next game was against a very strong Oly Cats team and unfortunately the team narrowly lost this match.  Their final game was against the Essex county team, it was an extremely close finish but Josh Lansdown showed great nerve to score the winning goal with 5 seconds remaining, the score finished 8-7 with Reece Langridge scoring 4.  This leaves Stowmarket top of the table with one round of games remaining, if the boys can repeat the results from Saturday on the 27th January then they will qualify for the national playoff finals in Cardiff.
